MEET DR. STEELE

Dr. Roland Steele is a Chicago educator, researcher, author, and speaker whose work examines student engagement, culturally relevant instruction, literacy, and the ways schools can create more meaningful learning experiences for students.

His professional experience includes classroom teaching, teacher mentoring and coaching, mathematics and literacy instruction, and developing educational programming designed to reconnect students with learning.

His research examining hip-hop pedagogy and the educational experiences of African American adolescents provides part of the foundation for Fixing What Traditional Education Broke.
